Coronavirus [COVID-19]
Coronavirus [COVID-19]
At Stirling Hospital, we are continually monitoring the changing COVID-19 situation and we are putting in place the following measures to ensure the health and safety of our staff, medical and allied health practitioners, patients and visitors:
Pre-admission Screening
All patients will continue to be screened as per current processes and may be cancelled where COVID-19 risk factors are identified
From 1 June 2022 – Admissions
Ophthalmology patients will not need to have a RAT prior to admission
All other surgical admissions will be required to conduct a RAT on the day of admission to be completed by the patient at home prior to admission and a negative result to be presented to reception staff at admission. If the test is positive patients MUST contact Stirling Hospital and not present for admission
Patients can source their own RAT or patients can collect a RAT from the front reception desk at Stirling Hospital but will need to provide details of their theatre booking as confirmation
A parent / carer / support person of the patient is required to provide evidence of negative RAT on admission (at their own expense)
Carers / parents / support people, who are required to remain onsite during the admission, are preferably to be fully vaccinated and those who are not fully vaccinated will be required to wear additional PPE
