Bequests & Donations
Bequests & Donations
The generosity of the Adelaide Hills community has long been one of the area’s most appealing traits. It was there back in 1927 when fundraising efforts and a multitude of donations led to the establishment of our very special hospital. More than 90 years on, community generosity continues to allow us to roll out new projects and further expand the valuable work of Stirling Hospital. There are many ways you can support our work;
A bequest or gift from your estate is your way of showing your strong commitment to the community and the work we do here at Stirling Hospital. For many people, a bequest is a way of making a more significant gift than may have been possible during their lifetime. Indeed, it was a generous bequest that enabled us to develop one of the first day surgery units in Adelaide and other bequests and donations have provided the funds that enable us to further improve the quality of our patient care.
The Stirling Hospital Foundation is a registered Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) with the Australian Taxation Office and all donations of $2 or more are tax deductible. Furthermore, as the Foundation is an Income Tax Exempt Charity, no duties and taxes are payable on any gifts to the Foundation.
Bequests can be made in a variety of ways to suit your personal preferences. You may, for example, wish to bequeath a residual share of your estate, part of the value of your estate, a specified sum of cash, or a gift of stocks, bonds or other assets.
A one-off memorial gift in memory of a loved one is a wonderful way to honour them and build something for the future in their name. We are extremely grateful to those who donate a gift in memory of a loved one and sincerely hope you can take comfort from the knowledge that your generosity will help many others who rely on the vital services of Stirling Hospital.
For further information on making a gift, please call our Director of Finance, Daniella Pozza, on 08 8339 0200 or send an email to reception@stirlinghospital.org.au.
You may wish to support the Stirling Hospital by making a tax-deductible donation for the value of your choice. All donations are generously received, and you may remain anonymous if you desire. Donations can be gifted to a specific area for example upgrade of theatre technology.
If you would like to make a one off donation or a regular donation, please call our Director of Finance, Daniella Pozza, on 08 8339 0200 or send an email to reception@stirlinghospital.org.au
People are increasingly choosing to commemorate the life of a loved one by asking for donations to a cause rather than flowers at the funeral or memorial service. It’s a special way to remember your loved ones and while your funeral director can guide you through the process, most of us choose to convey in the funeral notice that, in lieu of flowers, a donation in memory of [name] to Stirling Hospital would be appreciated.
Donations in memory can be made in several ways. You can send your donation to Stirling Hospital at PO Box 44, Stirling, South Australia 5152; your funeral director can arrange to place donation envelopes at the service; or you can request envelopes by our Director of Finance, Daniella Pozza, on 08 8339 0200.
Once a donation has been made in lieu of flowers, you will receive a thank you letter from the hospital, an acknowledgment letter with a summary of the gifts that were made in memory of your loved one and a tax-deductible receipt.
Our Director of Finance, Daniella Pozza, is only too happy to provide further information on or assistance with making a gift as an alternative to flowers and can be contacted on 08 8339 0200 or via email – reception@stirlinghospital.org.au
